Trauma intensives in raleigh, NC
Why an intensive?
Many people want therapy but simply don’t have the time or capacity for weekly 50-minute sessions. Between work, parenting, and emotional exhaustion, therapy can start to feel like one more thing to manage rather than a place for real relief.
In traditional sessions, much of the time is spent orienting, regulating, and catching up. When working with trauma, that often leaves only 15–20 minutes for actual EMDR processing. Just as your nervous system begins to open, the session ends. For many clients, this stop-and-start pattern leads to slow progress, emotional whiplash, or feeling stuck despite doing “all the right things.”
Trauma intensives offer extended, focused time so the work doesn’t have to be rushed or paused mid-process. With several uninterrupted hours, your nervous system has the space it needs to fully engage, process, and integrate. Many clients experience more meaningful change in an intensive than they have in months of weekly therapy.
Intensives are especially helpful if you feel plateaued in therapy, have limited time, want support around a specific trauma or belief, or are ready to go deeper and want relief sooner rather than later.
Each intensive is fully customized to you. I integrate EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic work and attachment-focused therapy to address both the memories and the relational patterns that keep you stuck. This approach allows us to work gently with protective parts, heal attachment wounds, and shift core beliefs at the nervous system level—while staying within your window of tolerance.
Healing doesn’t have to take years—or fit into a 50-minute window. If you’re looking for focused, effective trauma therapy that works with your real life, an intensive may be the right next step.
FEES
2 hour mini-intensive - $400

I don’t want finances to be a barrier to receiving care. Trauma intensives are a higher investment than standard sessions because of the time, preparation, and depth of work involved, but there are flexible options available. Many clients use Thrizer to access out-of-network insurance benefits, HSA or FSA cards, and payment plans to make intensives more accessible. We’ll discuss options openly during a consultation so you can make a decision that feels financially and emotionally sustainable.
